If you want to build a ship, don’t drum up the men to gather wood, divide the work and give orders. Instead, teach them to yearn for the vast and endless sea.

Science Outreach

ASU’s Open Door Event 2021:

I produced a short video in support of ASU and the School of Earth and Space Exploration’s public outreach initiative. Here we show what a day in the life of an environmental chemist is like. We in the CaNDY lab study the chemistry of all sorts of environments and we want to show you some interesting chemistry that happens in our back yard. This video is aimed towards elementary and middle school aged kids.

SESE’s Earth and Space Exploration Day 2019:

This event was awesome! I helped Hilairy Hartnett’s environmental chemistry lab put on hands-on demos of pH, salinity, and density geared towards K-12 students.

ASU Biodesign’s COVID-19 Response

I helped build masks during the first few months of the global pandemic and lockdown. These masks were used by COVID testing staff and long-term nursing care staff.
